I was insured with Patriot, and knew I would have to go out of state for just under 8 months with my car to finish my undergraduate degree. Note: I was using my vehicle to go to school in another state, and was keeping my Maine resident status. I ran all this by Patriot and was told this would all be fine if I came to Maine after.
Zero stars. Unprofessional company. Find a professional firm. This is a scam of a company. Why are they in business still with these reviews. I have the same story. Nickel and dime is right. Canceling and finding a real firm. Very unhappy customer.
I wish I could leave NO stars. I had two roofers say that I had hail damage from August 2015, which was considered a FEMA event. The first one went over the roof with the adjuster from Patriot, who claimed there was not enough damage. No biggie for me. Until I got a notice that unless I fixed my roof on my own dime, they were going to cancel my insurance. WTF? A second roofer tried to set up an appointment with a new adjuster, because he found a lot of hail damage, but this moronic insurance company tried to send the same guy. Then they gave me the runaround for almost a week about finding someone different to meet with the roofer. I gave up. Luckily, someone is helping us repair the roof, then I am canceling my insurance with these crooks and going with someone better.
Awesome company. Easy to work with. Very helpful and responsive. Had a home owners Neighbor file a fraudulent small claims case against us and patriot got us in touch with a top notch lawyer and stuck by us the whole time. Thanks patriot! Look forward to doing many years of business with you
My car was hit by someone insured by Patriot Insurance, and the entire claims experience was horrible. It took 11 days before Patriot called me to start the process. I had to call back 5 times over the course of 12 days, leaving a voicemail each time, before I finally reached a representative to continue the process. When they finally mailed my check, they sent it to the wrong address and when I asked them to mail it again, they waited 5 days before finally mailing it. The representative was also unprofessional by failing to return calls, not responding to emails, and sending very terse and unfriendly emails when she did respond.
More than anything I didn't appreciate clear communication that would have allowed me to make alternate plans before I even left the state. Now I just feel crewed over and the last thing I have any time for is finding a new auto insurance company.
I received notice last week what my coverage will be discontinued in March because my vehicle is not garaged in Maine. When I called to confront the company, I was told since it would be out of state for over 8 months, I could no longer keep Patriot insurance. When I clarified that I would not be gone for even 8 months, I was told I still couldn't keep my coverage.
